National Forest System Road Management (Transportation Policy)

The Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Forest Service National Transportation Policy (Roadless Initiative) has been released. A series of two public meetings has been scheduled in each National Forest. The first meeting will provide the public with information about the proposed rule and the Roadless Area Project Conservation DEIS. The second set of meetings will be to collect feedback from those who want to orally respond to the proposed rule and Draft EIS. Each speaker will be given three minutes for his/her comments, and a court reporter will be present to record comments that will be entered into the official record.

This is very important to ALL off-roaders! This is the Public Comment Period. Public Comment will be accepted until July 17, 2000.
