UROC - Utah Rockcrawling and Off-Road Challenge
UROC is an EXTREME rockcrawling competition series set to challenge novice and experienced 4-wheelers while raising donations for charity and land access groups. This years UROC profits will go to efforts to keep trails and public lands open.
The competition series will be held at two locations in Utah, Cedar City and Vernal. The first event will be held Memorial weekend in Cedar City (May 25-27). The Cedar City UROC competition will be held in conjunction with the Color Country Challenge hosted by the Color Country 4 Wheelers. Attendees will be able to enjoy the extreme rockcrawling competition and participate in trail rides into some of the areas around Cedar City. Utah Shared Access Alliance (USA-ALL) will be on hand to provide information about land-use and trail closures. There will be something for everybody.
The UROC competitors and Color Country Challenge trail riders will meet at the city park near the center of Cedar City. This will present an opportunity for both groups to socialize and get to know each other. For more information on the Color Country Challenge Call Dave Burling at (435) 586-0276.
The rockcrawling course will be a tough, no holds barred rock fest delivered up by professional rock crawlers for the entertainment of all. Experienced drivers and spotters with adequately equipped vehicles are encouraged to apply. The teams will meet at the city park on Friday, (May 25 from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM), for registration and technical inspection. A Drivers Meeting for registered competitors is scheduled Saturday, (May 26 at 7:30 AM). They will leave at 8:30 AM for the competition course for a 9:00 AM start time.
Spectators will be able to review the competition vehicles during Friday registration. Spectators are invited to the course where they can watch the competitors. Directions to the course will be distributed at the park after 8:00 AM on Saturday. The show will be worth it!
The Vernal competition will be August 16-18 with registration on the first day. Day two (August 17) will be competition. Day three will be the finals where the top competitors will face off against each other for the coveted UROC title. The Ute Indian Tribe will provide food and tribal entertainment.
