Esprit-de-Four Special Trail Days at Hollister Hills - Sunday, April 2, 2000

On April 2, 2000, the Esprit-de-Four 4-Wheel Drive Club hosted a new event at Hollister Hills SVRA called "Special Trail Days".

While April 1st. was the 25th Anniversary of Hollister Hills SVRA, what happened on April 2nd was a special day for Esprit-de-Four Club members and their guests from the Special Olympics, Northern California, Monterey Bay Region. Over forty volunteers helped at this event with everything from setting up the lunch site, B-B-Q of hotdogs and hamburgers, and the pleasure of driving the guests of honor around the SRVA.

This "Special Trail Days" event provided many young people from the Special Olympics with an opportunity to participate in a new outdoor activity not otherwise available without the aid of motorized recreation. All participants had a wonderful time and the Esprit-de-Four 4-Wheel Drive Club members are looking forward to next year's outing.

Esprit-de-Four 4-Wheel Drive Club is based in San Jose in the Silicon Valley of California and has members from all over Northern California with Associate Members from as far away as Alaska. They meet for the purpose of social, recreational, and educational activities and to enjoy and protect our natural resources. One of their members is a past Board Member of Tread Lightly!. They follow the Tread Lightly! guidelines and are a member of the California Association of 4-Wheel Drive Clubs. Club meetings are held the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 PM (with occasional exceptions) at Fresh Choice Restaurant in the Valley Fair Shopping Center, 3041 Stevens Creek Blvd., Santa Clara, CA.
